Magical Energy Projection

This is an exercise in focusing your internal energies and focusing your awareness

 
     
 

Kneel or sit comfortably on the floor, or on a chair, hands palms up on your knees or thighs, eyes closed. Now turn your attention to your breath. Just watch it coming in and out, as you might watch waves breaking on a beach. Then begin to focus on your lower belly. As you inhale, imagine your breath coming down and filling your belly, and as you exhale, imagine it coming up your torso, down your arms and out of your hands. Continue for a few moments, then slowly raise your hands in front of you and imagine you are holding a ball of light or energy between them. Explore how large the ball is by moving your hands apart and together again.

     
  1. Holding the ball of light in one hand, stretch out the other, the first two fingers extended as if they were pointing.
  2. Imagine the ball of energy slowly flowing into your hand across your body and flowing out of your out stretched fingers with a bright glow
  3. Try and see that light actually streaming like a torch beam across the room. Make the beam quite thin and direct. Just keep looking at your fingers and into the direction they are pointing. Let the light come rushing out as far as it can go. When it reaches the wall or whatever is in the way, imagine that the light is extending beyond it, travelling right through all barriers and obstacles, just shining endlessly into the distance.
  4. Hold your arm there for as long as you feel comfortable and keep imagining the light. If you start thinking things like ‘This is really silly’ or ‘What a waste of time’ that’s quite OK. Try to ignore that negative voice and concentrate. After a few moments, stop and relax. Don’t try too hard or for too long. What’s important is that you’ve made your first attempt at magical projection. You’ve made a symbolic gesture. You’ve extended the limitations of your mental and physical field of influence.
 

Keep practising this exercise every few hours for a few days. Don’t think about it when you’re not doing it. And don’t think too hard about it when you are doing it either! Just make a point of, every now and then, reaching out your arm, extending your first two fingers and projecting a beam of pure white imaginary light into the surrounding universe
